I am sure all of you have watched movies in which you hear a lot of fancy terms like IP addresses,DOS,DDOS and what not.So without further adieu let's get into the basic.
So What's an IP address?
An IP address (abbreviation of Internet Protocol address) is an identifier assigned to each computer and other device (e.g., printer, router, mobile device, etc.) connected to a TCP/IP network[1] that is used to locate and identify the node in communications with other nodes on the network. IP addresses are usually written and displayed in human-readable notations, such as 172.16.254.1 in IPv4, and 2001:db8:0:1234:0:567:8:1 in IPv6.
Enough for the technical definition but seriously what's an IP address? why would you care or anyone else would?
To keep things simple an IP address is used to identify and locate your machine (yes that's it), Bravo! now we know what's an IP address but what's the use? Well let's consider a scenario you are texting some random guy and he finds your location or at least the approximate without any mention sounds very insignificant but it does scare the sh** out of most people.
Let's start with how to figure out an IP address?
Well that's the easy part http://whatstheirip.com/ just open this link enter your email address it shows you certain links copy and paste them once they are opened you will get the IP address which accessed the link now basically you have the location of the person and the name of his/her device in the online world? But it's merely an address what bad it could do?
If you are one of those people who never configured their router or never changed the default log in credentials (which is mostly everyone) you can infect the ports, grab system information,send traffic(Basically DDOS),DNS Poisoning,Perform Man-In-The-Middle (MITM) attack

-reboot
-shutdown
-webcam chat
-webcam shot
-remote desktop
-sysinfo
-Hashfiles
-keyscan
-Microphone log
All this fancy stuff and what you need is a mere IP address along with a few skills.So if you are this far I got two news for you both good and bad.
